If a person was charged with 2nd degree murder with firearm, how much could the bail for this charge be? I heard bail causes the criminal to be dismissed without having to go to court...

Bail is set by a judge, who considers several factors, including the severity of the charges, the likelihood of jail and the defendant's ties to the community. If the judge feels the defendant is a flight risk, he will set a high bail. But bail does not mean the defendant does not have to come back to court. It means he gets out of jail, while the case is pending. But he has to appear in court, whenever directed to do so. It is common for judges to remand defendants charged with Murder 2, meaning they hold them without bail. The lowest bail I can recall in a Murder 2 case was $100,000. The defendant would be well advised to find a qualified criminal defense attorney.
