Entered the US Oct 1st, 10'. My I-94 expired Oct 22nd, 10'. Last night Nov 9, 10' I was on my way into Mexico on bus and was detained about 50 feet from the border and asked for my I-94. I mentioned to the officers that my car had broken down in Las Vegas and I had been there trying to get it fixed, but they said i had broken the law and then had my visitor visa canceled and then deported. My car is now stuck in Vegas. Seems really cruel and unusual. Thanks you for your answers.

Overstaying your I-94, for any reason, makes your visa automatically void. Even if you hadn't been caught, you still wouldn't have been able to use the visa to return to pick up your car. The immigration laws are harsh, it's true, and they don't give people much room for exceptional circumstances.
