If this is in a criminal DUI prosecution, you can request those through discovery. If this is for the DMV hearing, you would have to subpoena those.
Or, more accurately, your attorney will obtain those.
If you are representing yourself in the criminal case, you would need to do an informal discovery request under california penal code section 1054. You want to ask for the accuracy and maintenance records for the month your test occurred, and for at least the previous month and month after your test. You can also ask for usage or station logs and memory chip records. The memory chip records will usually be for the PAS machine.
You can also request in your informal discovery request whether the officer was trained to administer the machines.
Whether they give you just some or all of the information is up to the DA's office. If you believe they have not given you requested items that you are entitled to, you can bring a formal written motion to compel discovery in court.
It is your choice on whether to hire a DUI attorney or if you qualify use a public defender. Either one is usually set up to do all this for you. DUI cases and DUI law is complicated and that is why the other attorneys who responded have recommended you hire an attorney.
