Speeding ticket nonformal or formal hearing?

Officer says he radared me at 93 in a 70 then slowed down to 82. I could be wrong but, I'm pretty sure I was going slower then 93. When I slowed down I slowed to a 75. I was wondering what happens in a nonformal or formal hearing? How does the process go what are you able to do and either hearing?

A formal hearing, you and the police officer will have lawyers there. Informal hearing, no lawyers. You can go to the informal one and see if you can get a break, but you probably will need a lawyer to do anything worthwhile considering the officer says he had you at 93.

At an informal hearing, you will have the opportunity to speak with the city attorney or prosecutor assigned to your case and you are not represented by an attorney. They may offer you a plea to a lesser charge. It is always best to retain an experienced defense attorney to appear on your behalf at a formal hearing, because they can usually get a better plea deal, and can review with you all of your options for the formal hearing that may result in a reduced charge or no charge that abstracts to your record. Best of luck!

If your record is clean, then lawyer up immediately. Your lawyer can help negotiate your traffic offense down from a multi-point, very expensive offense, down to a non-reporting, no point offense. Do you think that that's worth it? Say yes. "Don't pass go, don't collect $200, go hire a lawyer"
If you record is not clean, then lawyer immediately. You need help.
Good luck.
