The prosecutor might offer you a probation (deferred adjudication) but it will most likely include you making restitution to the complainant. If you are a first time offender, the Dallas County DA office has a program that may get the case dismissed. Check with your attorney.

Be prepared to prove your unemployment, your prior employment and your attempts to get a job. Also be prepared to show that you are really a good person, and this was a lapse in judgment via character letters. You may be able to work the case out so that it can be kept off of your record. Otherwise, you are looking at a maximum of 6 months in jail & a $2,000 fine, but you would probably be granted deferred adjudication probation with no additional jail time.
