What status does cancellation of removal give if cancellation granted but adjustment of status cannot be granted?

I see, well, congrats in the approval, getting cancellation of removal for non-permanent residents is very difficult now a days. You are in a gray area. You can apply for an EAD-Employment Authorization Document and even a travel document/advance parole if you need to travel while waiting for the new fiscal year which starts on October 1, 2013, when you can apply for your I-485 adjustment of status when the new annual 4,000 visa numbers become available again. Usually, the Immigration Judge will continue the case or only take your evidence and keep the case in abeyance until the visa numbers become available again but as in your case I assume, the IJ can also approve the case as he/she did and just have you wait to file you I-485 until the visa numbers become available again.
