Hi, I would like to know if I can change my status as dependent of asylum granted person? Currently I am in F1 status.

The asylum granted person is going to file greencard in 2013. So what are the chances if he gets married before filing greencard and rather file as a joint?

There is no mechanism to "join" relatives who became family after grant of asylum. Your best strategy at this point is wait until the asylee gets LPR status and then files under F2A category. The wait is not too long (at this time it is about 2.5 years). You have to stay in F-1 status all this time though.
