Can my girlfriend apply for a k1 visa to the USA right after we have met in person?

I have dated my girlfriend for 7 months now and i will be going to see her in person in January 2013. Can we start the visa process,k1 visa, right after i get back to the US? say in February? or should we wait until 2years?

You can file the K-1 petition immediately after you see each other in person. Be ready to get married within 90 days of your girlfriend's entry in the U.S. or she will lose her status. Please work with a lawyer so that you can be properly guided.
