My husband signed a non compete clause in a veterinary clinic in Sedona, Arizona where he was hired to work that stated he couldn't work for another clinic within a 15 mile radius of where they held a business permit (which includes the whole of Sedona- sneakily). He was laid off after 6 months as they claimed lack of funds to pay him his wage.....and this greatly disrupted our life as we had to pay moving costs back to NYC etc (which we had only just paid to come out there from NYC)....Does this non compete hold up given that he is a veterinarian? AND- sub question- he signed the contract before he had a license in Arizona.....however i think they amended the contract.

If your husband was terminated through no fault of his own, as this appears to be, the covenant is not enforceable against him. If you would like to discuss this further, please contact me.
