Just statistcally, most federal criminal prosecutions across the country are ultimately resolved by a plea agreement, but that is just an overall picture and tells you nothing about what you should do in your individual case, which is something you must review and decide with your attorney. Where mulitple defendants are tried together, which happens often in federal court, it is normal for a single jury to be empaneled. The jury hears the case as to all defendants at the same time before the same judge in a single trial. Each defendant is represented by separate counsel. The Government is required to prove each defendant guilty beyond a reasonable doubt as to each count. The jury can decide to convict all of the defendants on all of the counts, to convict some defendants and acquit others, to convict on some counts and acquit on others, or to find everybody not guilty. It is an individual decision as to each defendant and each count. You absolutely need an attorney if you are facing a federal prosecution. If you cannot afford to hire one, the court will appoint counsel for you.
