Is a ticket for parking too close to a fire hydrant in Houston TX worth fighting?

Business Questions 2 views 2 answers
I received a parking ticket for $105.00 for parking within 15' of a fire hydrant. I was 10'+ away at least, but maybe not 15'. I also took a picture of where I parked. Is it worth trying to do anything, or should I just pay the ticket?

If there's an opportunity to contest it and it won't cost money or too much time, why not?

Anything you can do to not give your money to your county unless you have to is a good choice. However, you must consider the cost of litigation. Additionally, the cost of insurance. I don't think that this kind of ticket would have any effect on your insurance (it is a non moving violation) but you should check with your insurance agent to verify. Then you can make an educated decision on whether to fight it or pay it.
