If I hire an attorney, give them power of attorney, should I have to pay for their mistakes? I'm U.S/ They are Canadian.

Sold Canadian Property, said I would pay half of the survey, at which time my share would have been approx. $1100.00. After a month or two after closing, these people say I owe them $2876.76 for the survey, this includes interest. They had the power of attorney to do as they saw fit, I did not make the mistake they did.

I would need more facts. Before then however, you can check the invoice and see the expenses of this survey. Sometimes surveys are costly. "These people" is also a too generic term. An attorney would need to understand the big picture and check who you dealt with. My recommendation is to work with an attorney in your locality. Best
