How do I get a personal injury case postponed in Ann Arundel Court in Maryland? I need to get representation from an atttorney

I live in Boston but my personal injury case is in Maryland. I had an attorney that did not work out and need to get a new lawyer to represent my case. The movie theater where I was injured paid thousands for my physical therapy but now I need someone who can practice in Maryland to be my counsel.
Repost your question -- where you're asked where you live, put in the name of the community where the courthouse is located. You'll get responses from Maryland attorneys, which is what you need.
In addition to attorney Golden's good advice, be more proactive and call the Maryland Association For Justice, which is that state's Trial Lawyers Association. Also call a state or county bar association, use the "Find a Lawyer" tab above here on , or Google around to find experienced personal injury attorneys.
Courts in the states where I am licensed don't generally like continuances and it is a better idea to get representation relatively quickly. How do you get the case postponed? File a motion to continure and hold your breath.
I wish you the best.
Our firm, the Phillips Law Offices practices and have licensed personal injury attorneys in both Massachusetts and Maryland. I would be happy to discuss your case with you.
Besides doing research on your own regarding Maryland attorneys who can handle your case, you can also contact some Maryland bar associations who may have lawyer referral services that will connect you with a personal injury lawyer.
First, contact the court by letter and put your request for additional time in writing and on the record. Copy the insurance company's lawyer as well. Hopefully, that will prevent you from being defaulted. Next, you need to repost this in Maryland and find yourself a new attorney!
