Is an unsigned witness statement admissible in court?

Bankruptcy and Debt 4 views 1 answers
I found out my husband was with another female, out of anger I took the plate off of his truck and the legal papers out of it and put them in my van I went back to get our sons car seat out and upon walking back to my van saw he was trying to get the plate back out so I grabbed his arms to pull him away and he in turn grabbed my arm to get me off him.... We exchanged some vulgar words and I took off. 8 hours later and still out of anger and jealousy I decided to call the cops and report that he assaulted me I made a fabricated statement (but did not sign it) now he is in the middle of a DV case and is going to trial! Is my unsigned statement admissible at trial, I will NOT be there to be questioned as I have spoke with his defense attorney and want this dropped/acquitted!

A warrant can be issued for your arrest if you fail to show up in court. Prosecutor's regularly threaten to charge a witness with filing a false police report if she changes her story or attempt to support the defendant. This type of intimidation happens even when the witness is being truthful when she recants the original allegation. You may want to consider having representation. A criminal defense attorney would be able to help you. Consider calling a 10.0 Rated Michigan Domestic Violence Defense Attorney for a consultation.
