Can i work in the gap between CPT expiration and OPT start period.
If yes, great. If no, how can i keep my job and get paid? I don't want to lose my job or pay for this period. Thanks for the advice.

There is no way to tell how you could keep the employe from hiring others when you are absent. Right? Most likely work would be without authorization unless you satisfy certain exceptional criteria and request authorization. Best Wishes.
