Do you pay child support in advance?

My order states I was to begin payment on april 20 (order wasnt signed by judge until apr 23) and every week after. When my first payment was made - was it for April 13th through April 20th? Or April 20th through April 27th?

It depends upon how the order reads. Are you to pay weekly. If so, on what day of the week? If there is no set day, then assume the week beginning April 20. Ask your lawyer if you are still in doubt.

I do not know why you think we can answer that question when we have none of the information necessary. Call your lawyer. We do not even know when you are paid. Is it weekly or every other week or twice per month? It is good that you are concerned though about when it is due and that you are making sure you pay it on timel Good luck!

Typically child support is payable for the prior week; in your case, the child support would usually be applied to the week of 4/14/12 through 4/20/12. That being said, you should check with your attorney to determine how your child support is applied. Good luck.

If you had a child during the week of 5/13 - 4/30, you should pay support for that child for that week. Are you really trying to see if you can skip out on paying support for YOUR CHILD on a legal technicality? Hire a lawyer.
