The Public Defender's office was appointed at the First Appearance. Looks like the crime which caused the violation of probation is a DUI and Driving While License Suspended/Revoked. Chances are that it was suspended or revoked because he was behind in support. He wasn't arrested for not paying support, he was arrested for driving DUI and without a valid Driver's License.

Mr. Umansky is correct. PD stands for Public Defender by the way. The PD is a lawyer appointed by the court to those that can't afford to hire their own attorney. 1st App is short for 1st Appearance, which is when you are first seen by a judge, usually within 24 hours of your arrest. If the family is interested in hiring private counsel to represent your brother, feel free to give me a call.

I agree with my colleagues answers. I think he should be aware that the court system may charge him $50.00 for this procedure, whether or not he had an opportunity to consult with a public defender. He needs to think about retaining his own attorney.
