Can I travel internationally with a pending ACD?

2 views 4 answers
This was in New York. I got caught with criminal possession, arrested, fingerprinted, received a DAT, and got an ACD two months ago. I am planning to travel to Europe next month. With an ACD that is currently pending, will there a problem with immigration(current green card holder; 10 years; second renewal approval)? Will I be stopped at the airport?

Yes it is a possibility that you will be questioned about your case. I suggest getting a disposition and have an original with you at the time of your travel. I have also seen clients coming in without any issues/problems in a similar situation, but of course each case is different. Good luck!

There could be a problem... a Customs Officer has the discretion to deny you re-entry due to the pending ACD.

I have heard from clients that they have experienced problems and delays traveling with pending ACDs. I always advise them to get a certificate of disposition and bring it with them. However, that does not insure that there will be no problems; it should help.
