How do i enforce my ex-husband to comply with court order?
Anonymous2 views3 answers
I was divorced from my ex-husband for over a year now. During the divorce procedure I got a court order stating how we divide our vehicles. The vehicle he was granted is solely on my name. The court order requires him to refinance the vehicle and remove my name from it in three month. A year later he still didn’t do anything.
What should I do? Should I get a lawyer and try to enforce my husband to comply with order? Or do I try to regain the possession of the vehicle?
You need to file a motion to address this. His failure to comply with the order will not excuse you from violating the order, unless the order itself allows you to take the vehicle back because of his non-compliance.
I am sorry that you are going through this, two wrongs never make a right, so use the court and file a proper motion to enforce the court order and that will solve the problem, don't just take the car back, it could be dangerous. take care.
