In Washington State if the custodial parent does not pick up their child from a visitation with the non custodial parent, this is per parenting plan that the receiving party picks the child up, what are the recourses? The judge here tends to be really lenient in violation of the parenting plan.

After a certain number of finding of contempt of court, the court may start considering penalizing the party found in contempt. The penalty may include changing the parenting plan. One option that may be available is for you to keep a log of when the other parent does not show up and bring up the fact at the next court hearing. What does your parenting plan provide when the receiving parent is late or does not show up? One option is for the parent currently with the child to treat the other parent is not showing up and just keep the child until the next scheduled exchange. You likely should discuss your facts and options with an attorney.
