I have an E2 Visa and i want to work. I know that the E2 Visa is an non imigrant work Visa. Can i apply Employment Autorization?

Do I need to change my status from non immigration (temporary resident) to permanent Resident first I-698 form? And after this I can apply for an Employment Autorization I-765 form? Or how is that work?? To get an work permit for all companys i want to work for?

The answer depends on whether you are the principal E-2 holder or the spouse of the principal. (If you are the child, you cannot get work authorization in E-2 status.) If you are the principal, you can only work for the company that petitioned for your E-2 status. If you are the spouse, you can work for whoever you like once you get employment authorization from CIS. You need to file a Form I-765 for this. It will probably take 3-4 months for approval.
