Can I get security clearance on a green card for State Department?

Immigration 2 views 2 answers
I applied for a fellowship in State Department. I am a green card holder but I got conditional offer and they sent me sf-86 to fill out and I submitted my finger prints etc. This was all done 2 weeks ago. Just yesterday I found out that I can't get the fellowship because I am not a U.S. citizen. Is there's anything I can do to convince them or anything. This fellowship means a world to me.

No. Become a citizen as quickly as possible.

Not an immigration question. Whether you can get a security clearance depends on the rules and regulations governing that particular clearance.
