It sounds as though it means no felony probation and mid term of two years is the maximum the Judge will give. Whether that is in local custody or state prison I cannot say without more information about the exact charges and your full criminal history. Good luck www.losangelesdefenders.com

A two year lid means that the court can give probation, or if he chooses to deny probation, up to two years in prison (which depending on the charge, could mean a local prison term in jail or actual prison). Some judges use a lid because they want to see what probation recommends, while others use a lid to represent a likely sentence, but while remaining open to any argument your attorney may make for less. The key to a lid is that the sentencing plays a big role in what you'll receive and your attorney should be prepared to argue on your behalf. You should speak with your attorney to discuss a strategy and/or things that may assist you in getting less time (letters, family support, proof of employment, etc.).
