Do I have to pay for unsatisfactory dental work?

I went to this dentist to get a new set of bridge and crown for my front teeth. She told me that it will be done in 2 weeks. It took 4 months (while I was wearing a temporary one); I visited her many times, since she could not get it right. Finally I gave up and let her cement the poor quality bridge just to get over with it. She already has collected my insurance portion but I still owe her some money. After she cemented the bridge, her receptionist tricked me and asked me to sign a consent stating that I have been satisfied with the result, prior to bridge getting cemented. (I didn't have my glasses with me and she told me that is just to say that I have received the bridge). I refused to pay my portion since not only took so long and at the end is a poor quality job and I am not satisfied at all! Can she send that portion to the collection agency? And if she does, can I dispute it and actually sue her and make a complaint to the Dental Board?

This whole situation sounds made up. But I have actually seen some pretty bizarre conduct from some dental offices. It is unlikely that your signed statements will affect your rights, but you should consult with a california dental malpractice attorney to determine how to proceed.

This falls more into the arena of breach of contract than malpractice. Did you get what you were promised? If you feel the bridge & crown were sub standard, file a complaint.

You certainly have every right in the world to file a complaint with the dental board and you certainly have a right to contest any claim they may make to by and through a collection agency. _________
