Suggestions for an attorney that specializes in professional licensing issues (Health Profession Division)?

I need suggestions of top notch lawyers who specifically deal with licensing for health care professionals. I am afraid with my criminal history (3 Dui's) I will be denied despite being honest....Thanks!

There is a wealth of information available on the Michigan governmental licensing web sites. Or, as my colleague suggests, you can use the search feature. Try the search term "professional licensing" and use your Plymouth location.

Feel free to use the "Find a Lawyer" function. The Q&A is not intended for attorney recruitment (or client solicitation either).

A business attorney who has handled these matters in the past. Attorney's must also pass character and fitness; so there are attorneys out there that deal with these issue. You will need to make sure that the attorney you hire has dealt with this your issue in the past.

I suggest that you contact the appropriate medical society (i.e., Michigan State Medical Society, Michigan Physician Therapy Association) for your appropriate license and seek a recommendation. Most licensing boards will not prohibit licensure if you are in active treatment through an approved impairment program. A qualified lawyer in your state can give you advice. Good luck!
