My 18 year old daughter (17 at the time). Had gone to a get together at her assistant managers house with another male adult who worked at this FFR (fast food rest). She had gotten herself drunk and the male stuck his hands down her outfit at one point. He also brought her home and she know remembers being groped. According to her she was blacking out at this point and did not remember everything. She went to this same assist. mg r's house this weekend and he told her what he saw take place, he felt she needed to know at this point". All this a year later. I am her father and I am trying to deal with this the right way, not going out and doing the wrong thing to this man. I am also trying to make this as easy on my daughter as I can. I told her not to go to her job. Need some help!
I'm sorry to hear that your daughter went through this. The first thing she needs to do if she feels there was a sexual assault is to report this to the police and request further investigation. She may also have potential civil claims against either the individual or the restaurant if they knew or should have known about the incident. Our office handles these types of claims if she would like to consult further.
I would call the police department and make a report of the incident. Also contact the district attorney office to see if they can offer more assistance.

Definitely contact the police. If this was a work event there may be a basis for a work comp claim. Also a civil claim may be brought against the individual.
She should contact the police to report the assault. She should also speak to some local lawyers as she may have a civil claim and potential lawauit against the individual and also against the fast food restaurant. Many lawyers offer free consultations and you and/or her should speak to some local personal injury lawyers.

Police, counselling, and discussions with an attorney are a good start. She has to be willing to cooperate and make a police report. Only you can tell whether she needs counselling, but it is not a bad idea if she is willing. The problem with a civil suit, is it is an intentional act and not covered by insurance, so collecting any judgment may be very difficult or even impossible. I hope your daughter recovers. I have two teenage daughters and can sympathize and empathize with you.
Most cities have confidential sexual assault counselors in the private sector and affiliated with your local District Attorneys Office. . I would start there as a family. Also you may want to get a private investigator to do a public record criminal check background on this predator. This might not be an isolated incident.
I agree with the other attorneys regarding your legal recourse. That being said, your daughter is to be congratulated for having the courage to tell you about it!
