I have my green card interview in a week and upon my lawyers suggestion I selected NO to have you ever been arrested question but there was a small incident for shop lifting about 13 years ago in which my case was sealed and dismissed I have obtained a certificate of disposition which I will take with me.Will my case be affected by my saying NO on the application and is there anything I can do now to make it ok?thanks

You have to be truthful when answering any government forms. Take the final disposition document to the interview and have your lawyer ask to amend your I-485 at the beginning of the interview (before you are placed under oath). Nothing will happen don't worry.

I have to say that I disagree with your lawyer's advice to mark the box "no" even though your case was more than 5 years ago, dismissed and sealed. However, with the appropriate documentation (certified copies) of the dismissal and sealing will be useful. In the end, the effect should be minimal.

You get to correct the answer at the interview.

The answer should definitely have been "yes" on the form. You need to let the examiner know that you want to amend your answer. Most examiners are pretty reasonable and will make the correction.
