What is the deadline to file an answer to an amended petition in a Texas civil case in Dallas County

Civil case Dallas County Court According to the rules it seems to be the Monday following 20 days. So if it was filed on August 20, it would be on September 16. But honestly the rules are very confusing. Any help is greatly appreaciated. Thanks

It goes from the date it was SERVED, not filed. Count forward 20 days.. You have until 10:00 am on the next Monday. If is confusing. That is why you need to get a lawyer.

Did you file your general denial to the original petition? If yes, that will suffice. Texas Rule of Civil Procedure 92 states: "When the defendant has pleaded a general denial, and the plaintiff shall afterward amend his pleading, such original denial shall be presumed to extend to all matters subsequently set up by the plaintiff."
