Under the 5th Amendment to the United States Constitution you have a right not to incriminate yourself. This right can be invoked in situations like yours, because if you testify you would be facing criminal charges (perjury, false police report, falsification, etc.). So you can refuse to testify at all. Contact a local criminal defense attorney in your area who is NOT associated with the case for advice on how to do so. Dan J.
