Question about 485 Interfiling

Me and my wife filed for 485 in 2007 in EB3 with my wife as primary and me as secondary. We got our EAD's and have renewed it since. I got my own 140 approved in EB2 with a priority date of Nov 2005. We have made an interfiling request for the existing application to swap out her 140 and replace it with mine. That request is still in process. What happens if I get laid off? Do I get to switch back? Do I have to go through the labor and 140 again if I find another employment? When does my AC21 6 mth period begin?

It is rarely a good idea to attempt interfiling. Please tell us you have an attorney and please tell us what that attorney has recommended. No attorney ....... yet????????? Now is the time to 'pony up' as we say in the USA.
