B1 Visa to L1-A Visa time & fees
Anonymous2 views1 answers
We have formed company already 5 monthd back and have all foreign company documents ready. I have seen all forms - I-129, I-129 L supplement and I-907 too. It seems pretty simple to file on my own. Can I file my B1 visa to L1-A visa myself or via a lawyer?
There is no requirement to file the forms with a lawyer. But for me, as an immigration lawyer, I know that the practice is not simply filling out forms, but understanding the legal basis for the various questions and other information that goes into the forms, the USCIS policies and practices, and other cases that bear on the likelihood that a particular matter will succeed or not. It is often preferable, especially for the L-1A category, to consult with an experienced immigration attorney. The USCIS often issues Requests for Evidence in this kind of application, and it has sometimes odd notions about whether the evidence submitted meets the statutory criteria for the L-1A category. Denials are not infrequent. An attorney can provide you with the benefit of his or her knowledge, experience and a professional service that you would not have if you do it on your own. Also, if you were to make any mistakes, having a lawyer try and correct them could turn out being more time consuming and expensive than using the lawyer from the beginning.
