Do I need to speak with an attorney?

Do I need to speak with an attorney? I first want to say that I love and the help that it offers, but I want to share that when I see attorney answer questions with: "You need to speak with an Attorney", that's not really helpful. I think 's policy is pretty clear that responses are not legal advice and we should talk to an attorney before any action is taken. When people post here, they are usually asking preliminary questions to prepare for an attorney meeting or to prevent a big mistake until one is retained.

More often than not, the kinds of questions people are asking require full background information for us to give a good response. However, giving that kind of detail on a board such as would be unwise. We also have to worry about conflict of interest issues, i.e. we have to be careful not to provide advice to someone who has an interest against one of our clients. Given all of this, it can be hard sometimes for us to say more than, you really need a lawyer.
