I am facing an eviction since I have a roommate that told me he paid the landlord the rent.

Apparently he paid only part of last months rent. Now that is due plus this months which is past due. As a good faith effort, he offered a motorcycle as collateral which i was not aware of util recently but the landlord proceeded with eviction and the lease is in my name only. Now I have a court date in a week. Any advice on if the motorcycle would come into play? I am in a bad enough situation as it is and my roommate has made it worse.

Don't see the motorcycle as a solution for you unless LL accepts it. The lease you signed will be controlling. You MAY have options against the roommate, but that won't help you against the LL.

Since the lease is in your name only, you are solely responsible for the rent. If the rent is not paid the landlord can proceed with the eviction. If you want to stay in possession, you need to get the rent paid - or work out some agreement with the landlord. You may then be able to pursue your roommate for any money he owes you.

Not much you can do other than to try and work out a payment schedule/plan in the proceeding to bring the arrears current with the landlord. The landlord would not have to accept anything other than the rent unless otherwise set forth in your rental agreement.
