You may have a potential false arrest claim, generally ALL attorneys handle such cases with no out of pocket costs to you... on a contingency fee basis, i would suggest speaking to an attorney IMMEDIATELY as there are strict periods of statutes of limitations on these cases
I disagree with Mr. Gonzales that ALL attorneys are willing to take on civil rights claims against the police. These are highly specialized complex suits with many deadlines that can take years to win. What you want is a civil rights lawyer and there are many listed on who practice in CA, rather than 3000 miles away. Call one and ask for a consultation.
You've given a fairly detailed description for a short question and answer forum. However, there are a lot of facts that an attorney would need to know before they could begin to answer your ultimate question; "Do I have a viable lawsuit?"
You should consult an attorney that regularly handles civil rights claims. These are very complex cases and I could not imagine someone attempting them on their own. If you have a potentially winable case, you should be able to find an attorney that will take the case on contingency.
