Can police ticket you for not having a city sticker while your car is parked in your own (private, behind our house) driveway?

We don't have a city sticker on the car. The car has been parked in our driveway. Police would've had to come onto our property to ticket the car and check for city sticker. We own the car. We own our home/driveway. Driveway/parking pad is off of a public alley.

Yes, the City requires such stickers for all cars anywhere inside the city limits.

Every one of those revenue ordinances in the 'burbs is different. If it is plated and operative, sure. If it is not plated and not operative, then you might have a defense. As far as them coming onto your property to issue the ticket, no problem at all. It's not like they were conducting a search for contraband.

Yes, as long as your car is parked within city limits you can be ticketed.
