My family & I have been staying at a motel 6 in San Bernadino for the past 10 months we pay our room on a day to day basis and have spent over $13,000 in rent.Everything had been cool for the first few months we were there. The manager of the motel is Indonesian, I am African American my fiance is white. The manager doesn't have no issues with my fiance they all seem to be targeted at me and I've noticed as well the way I've seen her interaction with other blacks, it's the same way I'm treated her tone of voice, body language everything much different from the way she acts with the other guests. So I believe that she has prejudice in her against blacks. She also made false accusations about me to other guests that I have personal relations with unknowingly to her though therefore slandering

You can sue for defamation if someone makes a false statement about you that damages your reputation. If you want to hire an attorney, you should look for someone who practices civil law. There are a couple of questions you should ask yourself first: How much will a lawsuit cost me? How much do I stand to collect if I win? The fact that this person may be prejudiced toward people of different races, which you perceive through he tone of voice or body language, probably isn't going to get you far. You would have to prove that she deliberately lied about you, then establish a financial value for the damage to your reputation. You probably won't find a lawyer who's willing to take this case without a substantial fee up front. It may be easier on you, your family and your pocketbook to look for another place to live.

This isn't worth pursuing. Why not move elsewhere?
