I just go my certified Final Decree of Divorce and also have Special Warranty Deed for the house. How do I remove my spouse name from the Deed? What I have to do next? Where to go?

Record the deed in Richmond, or hire an attorney

Generally you can take a certified copy to the Fort Bend County Clerk's office and file it in the property records. Or. as Mr. Busby stated, consult with a family law attorney. Good luck!

I agree with Mr. Busby's response to your post. While it is not clear what you seek, filing the special warranty deed is logical. Removing her name from the deed is more challenging, but it can be done. However, the loan may remain in both of your names. You need to hire an attorney as stated by Mr. Busby to handle these other matters for you and review the decree and see what can be done. Good luck!

Make sure the SWD is recorded in the county where the property is located. Your attorney should do that for you.
