I was arrested for retail theft but I got the charge amended to disorderly conduct. I'm on court supervision for the disorderly conduct. When can I get the arrest of retail theft expunged of my record?

The expungement waiting period for the Disorderly Conduct which the charge you are on Court Supervision is 2 years from the date of the successful completion of the period of Court Suprevision. Stay out of trouble. Good Luck.

You must wait until 2 years after your period of supervision is over, provided you have no other arrests or convictions. Here is the pertinent information: You can seek expungement without an attorney. If and when you qualify for expungement can be reviewed at the following links. For Cook County: http://12.218.239.52/newsite//GI_NEWS//newscontent/Events/2013/Expungement_Packet_2013.pdf or for outside Cook but still in Illinois, go to: http://www.illinois.gov/osad/Expungement/Pages/default.aspx

You are eligible for expungement two years from the successful completion of your Disorderly Conduct supervision as long as you have no criminal convictions on your record. Good luck. More information on expungement and sealing available at the links below.

I agree with all of my colleagues. Just for clarification, two years after completion of your supervision is the time when you expunge all of the records of this case, the retail theft arrest and the disorderly supervision. You cannot separate them and you cannot expunge the arrest sooner than that.
