Can I stop my in laws from visiting?

Divorce 4 views 3 answers
My unbearable in-laws come to visit every weekend. They disrespect me and I dont like having them in my house so often. Apparently, I cant prevent them from coming to my house since they are my husband's guests and we are both owners of the house. I have a 10 months old baby. I don;t trust my husband to take care of him properly if I am out for the day, so I said that I would go shopping and take the baby with me. My husband threatens with a "shitstorm". What are my options? Am I obligated to stay home every weekend they want to visit (given that I dont want to leave my baby alone)? What should I do if my husband doesn't let me leave the house with the baby?

Your options are to either try marriage counseling, or file for divorce. Ultimately if you & your spouse cannot agree on fundamental issues, then you need to either resolve the problem or separate. More more info, call a NYC Family Law attorney for a consult.

You are stuck. This is family living. You cannot correct errors in mate choice by hiring a lawyer to jail everyone. The in-laws cannot be excluded and your mate bosses you around. That's how it is. Don't go to court for assistance as you'll find none there.

Unless you are looking to end your marriage there is very little that an attorney can help you with in this situation.
