This is serious/eluding is a felony -sentencing guidelines provide for considerable jail. Do not talk to the police and hire an attorney if they approach you for questioning. You have a strong defense. Did your friend have permission to use the car? Need more facts.

You were smart to reach out for help. Do not talk to the police! If the police contact you retain an attorney that has beaten this charge. The police can charge you, but, you have a strong defense!

The police are going to contact you, and you would be wise to retain an attorney to represent you. You should also get the names of people who can confirm you were at work, or a time card or some other record that will establish you were not driving the car. Do not speak to the police directly, if you avoid doing so. Your attorney should be able to provide this material to the authorities, and hopefully you will not be charged. Good luck to you.

The police will likely contact you. Do not speak to them without an attorney. You do not know what else your friend did while with your car. So do not admit anything without an attorney. Have the alibi proofs ready to go. They will threaten obstruction you just say you want an attorney present.

You will most likely be contacted and questioned. Make sure you are prepared so you can avoid prosecution. Avoid speaking to the police directly at all costs. They may choose to charge you but it will very difficult to prove. Good luck.

At some point, probably soon, you can expect the police to show up. Do not talk to them. Even though you have an explanation, they are not going to believe you and they are going to try to find a way to prove your involvement. Hire a lawyer to prove your alibi and let him/her talk to the police.

Serious issues, this type of criminal possibility should not be discussed on this forum, but only in private with an individual lawyer where you will have the protection of privileged conversations. This is a public forum so you should not use it for this purpose as it is not confidential.

I agree with my colleagues. I would only add that it is important for you to understand that you have a right NOT to speak with any law enforcement officer. Retain an attorney and he/she will represent you in the event that you are either the target of an investigation or a witness. It is my experience that people get in to trouble when they try to explain the circumstances surrounding their involvement in potential criminal activity. Invest a few dollars, retain an attorney and have peace of mind that your Constitutional rights are being protected.

You will be questioned. I would talk to an attorney before speaking to anyone. Remember this is a criminal investigation and anything can be used against you. You have the right to remain silent. Your lawyer can negotiate immunity before you speak.
