How do i evict a tenant from my home?

I have a friend that needs a place to stay so I'm helping him out temporally. I didn't have a lease made out because he is my friend and he did help me out in the past so I'm returning the favor. We got into a dispute about our personal issue and we are no longer friends. I made an eviction letter, kept one and gave him the other one he ripped the one i gave him in front of me; i still have my copy. He is not talking to me and has blocked me on his phone. I gave him a second letter and took a picture of the letter before i gave it to him he also throw that after he got in my face. What should i do beside getting a court order to have the cops come?

My first question here is whether he is paying rent. If not, he is merely a guest who is overstaying his welcome. If so, then you definitely need to go through the formal eviction process. If you are looking for a way to accomplish this without having law enforcement involved, it may not happen.

There is a legal process to follow. You might want to sit down with a local lawyer who can explain it and advise you on how to proceed given your specific facts. Best of luck

Generally, you need to give him at least three days' notice to vacate in writing. If he doesn't move out by the deadline in your notice, you should have the right to file an eviction case with a justice of the peace for the precinct where the property is located.
