Recently the national USCIS facilities experienced a considerable backlog of the accepted cases which as you may have noticed, resulted in delays across the country. You may send a written request for an update or schedule an infopass with the closest USCIS facility.

Many asylum offices are experiencing substantial backlogs and thus you are not in an unusual circumstance. Be patient as you probably have received your EAD card by now, permitting you to work. Thus, the delay is not causing you any harm. You may, if you desire, make inquiry, but will probably be told that your interview will occur in regular order based on filing date.

Miami is backlogged. Some people have been waiting for a year or more for an interview. Your case cannot be expedited, because it would be unfair to place you ahead of someone else who has been waiting for just as long. Be patient and use this time to prepare for your interview, preferably with an attorney.
