Section 8 Housing 1 views 1 answers
I rent out the apartment to section 8 and the tenant temper with a few things before the inspection so they issue the violation,I have the violation repaired and faxed the certificate of repair which signed by the tenant to section 8 but they never respond and never pay ,I wrote them 3 letters but get no respond.

Your time to sue to recover your back rent, because you are dealing with a government determination, is 4 months from the denial of payment. That does not mean that the Housing Authority will not potentially pay you rent that is due from periods more than 4 months ago. You should consult a landlord/tenant attorney who is experienced in collecting Section 8 payments from NYCHA. You can try the find a lawyer tab on or call the New York City Bar Association for a referral: http://www.nycbar.org/get-legal-help/legal-referral-service
