Since its only 18 months the dealer says to provide sufficient evidence proving my further stay. He says a letter from my employer explaining my visa status doesn't work. What are the other options that i have. Are there any other documents that i could provide? Such as a letter from my employers attorney etc?

There are no U.S. immigration statutes or regulations barring a person from leasing a car for a period that is longer than the remaining period on the lessor's nonimmigrant visa. The car dealer's insistence upon evidence of authorization to remain in the U.S. for the full 36-month period is a matter of the car dealer's (or financing company's) own policy. It may be worthwhile to supply a letter from the immigration attorney who represents you and your employer explaining the legal ability and intention to extend the H1B visa at the appropriate time, for a duration exceeding the 36-month period. If that dealer still is unwilling to go forward with the lease, then try one of the dealer's competitors. David N. Soloway Frazier, Soloway & Kennedy, PC Atlanta, Georgia
