I'm currently receiving medicare and other health help from the government - my girl friend me to start a company for her.

she would like to start a small online business using my social security number to file for a C corp. All financial would be going to the C corp and nobody will 1099 me personally or the company since most the transactions will be via checks and/or cash. If I do this, will I lose my benefits and medicare? Are the handicap not able to start a business or have their name on paper of any business? At the end of the year, I obviously will claim on my personal tax that I didn't take a dime from the business but instead business tax and all of the income will go to my girl friend... Please help me so I can help my girlfriend.

Why can't you use Girl friend's social security #? Why do you want a C-Corp? If this is a job that a person with your level of disability is permitted to do and still receive benefits. I would go down to the benefits office and ask them for information on permittable income for a person in your situation. Getting the information from the government will help you avoid losing your benefits and let you know what is permissible.

I'm sorry that the following is not a direct answer to your question. However, it addresses what I see as the most fundamental issue in the facts that you have presented. Why should your SSN be used for your girlfriend's business? Are the two of you planning to engage in some sort of fraudulent activity? In my opinion, those issues should be addressed before you worry about losing your government benefits.
