My ex received back pay from Social Security Disability in which in our final judgment I'm entitled to half and he will not pay

I recently found out my ex husband received his back pay from Social Security Disability. In our mediation and final Divorce judgment it states i am entitled to half of what he receives. He received this in June of 2014 and will not give me what i am entitled too. I think he has already spent the money on drugs. Do i file a motion with the court?

Yes, you go back to the court whose order he is disobeying. I'll add that if the order has that debt as 'alimony"'(rather than distribution of assets), you may be able to get a garnishment order - SS benefits can be garnished for both alimony and child support - so look into that possibility as well.

Yes, it looks like you will need for file a motion for contempt and hope that this will force him to hand over the money at this point. I would contact the lawyer who helped you get divorced right away.
