When I was 17 I got a ticket for drinking at school, 12 month suspension. Wasn't driving or near a vehicle. Now 18 I require a drivers license for to and from work for what I'm applying to. Possible for me to get a occupational liscence?
Probably not. What you are thinking about is a critical needs restricted license. However, you can go back to court, explain you are applying for a certain job and ask the judge to find on the record that your ability to drive is a critical need. What I would do to perhaps help the judge come to this is start attending AA meetings three times per week to show you are willing to "pay" for the ability to drive, which is normally taken away for a minor in possession of alcohol. You can find the location of AA meetings in your area by Googling "Alcoholics Anonymous" and then locations. The meetings are free and may reassure the judge that you are not just applying for a job as a way to get your license back as a trick. What if you don't get the job, after all. So going to three AA meetings a week is kind of like extra punishment to avoid the license suspension. If the court declares your license is a critical need, you'll have to then go to the DMV to apply for a critical needs restricted license.
The only way you can drive is to get a critical needs license from DMV . You license was suspended for a year because you were a minor caught with alcohol..
You will need to apply to get a critical needs CDL from DMV. The application is available on-line. You will need to explain why is is essential for you to have your CDL.
