I came to the US in 2011 on F1 student visa, filled for asylum and was referred to an immigration judge.

I left the US before my Immigration hearing (August2014) and abandoned my asylum claim, gave my I94 and departed the US for Canada because I had received immigration benefit under their child protection) program. I have never returned to the country from which I feared persecution. Can I get a US visa if i apply at their embassy in Canada?. I am now a permanent resident in Canada. Will the Americans Barn me. What is my best route to get a visa and come and visit friends in the US? I did not also go to school when I got to the US because I was traumatized by what I had gone through with my persecutors in my native country.

It sounds a if you self deported by leaving voluntarily while in removal proceedings. This will trip a ten year bar to reentry if that is what happened. Schedule a consultation with an experienced immigration attorney, who can review your documents and case in detail and give specific legal advice.

This can be a big problem. I suspect that the judge signed your in-abstentia deportation order. Hire a US-licensed attorney to get a copy of your file. There are many lawyers in Canada that have a US license: www.ailalawyer.com

If you did not attend a court hearing about your asylum claim after the case was referred to the court, you may have an absentia removal order. If you apply for any visa at the U.S. consulate, you may be refused such visa based on the removal order.
