Hi. I am interested in filing my Eb1 green card extraordinary ability and was advised to not add my husband to my application till after I get approved. Is that sound advice or is it better to file his application as part of mine?

You can not add your spouse to the FORM I-140. However, you can file the FORM I-485 concurrently with the FORM I-140 in an EB -1. Your spouse should file his FORM I-485 before your FORM I-485 is adjudicated.

I think you are mixing the petition for immigrant visa with application to adjust status. in the first step, you do inform the USCIS about your marital status. In the second step, if your immigrant visa is approved, then you file your application for green card together with your spouse's and your children, if any. Unless they do not want to get the green card with you. Generally, this category is notoriously complicated, and doing it on your own if not impossible, is extremely hard. Rather than experimenting with your immigration status, I would recommend that you at least consult an attorney in private before deciding to act on your own. Good luck.
