Son is currently in jail in Jamestown North Dakota for probation violation. He was receiving disability through his employer because he had a stroke and seizures. He is taking same prescriptions in jail as he was when he was not. They will not release any medical information to the disability company they need this to continue his claim in order for him to keep receiving benefits. we need the forms to petition the courts.

The lawyer who defended your son in court should be able to handle it, so give him a call, or has the best lawyer finder tool to locate an attorney nearby. Good luck.

In a perfect world attorney Lasson's advice would make sense, but if your son was represented by a public defender, most likely the public defender considers its duties ended when your son was sentenced. It is not clear who the "they" are that will not release the medical information and who it will not be released to. This may be a problem with communication and having the appropriate authorizations. A health care provider whether a private provider, the county or the state cannot release protected medical information without the consent of the person receiving treatment. Have your son sign the proper authorization and re-submit the request. If the information is not provided file a HIPPA complaint.
